CHICAGO, IL – 96-year-old Edith Florence of Chicago revealed Monday morning that she was indeed not a Cubs fan nor a fan of baseball in general after she was interviewed by a local news station early Monday.

Edith was seen late Monday night on the evening news proclaiming her long wait for the World Series, of which she fabricated her fandom and Cubbie love.

“I’m sorry, the news stations just started walking through the nursing home asking for the oldest Cubs fan in here. I just said I was because what else do I have to do?” Edith told The Cob.

“I haven’t watched much baseball through the years, it’s just so damn boring. I usually would fall asleep.” She continued.

“I prefer UFC. It’s more exciting. My favorite is Rhonda, she’s one tough lady!” Edith concluded.

As for local news stations, many have begun checking elderly people’s Cub’s fandom claims before interviewing them. The embarrassment seemingly subsiding by Tuesday mid-afternoon.
