Heavy Metal Band Slipknot to Play Ottawa Riverfest
OTTAWA, IL – After years of tribute bands and retired rock stars, Ottawa Riverfest has finally landed a national act with the heavy metal band Slipknot slated to headline the upcoming event.
“We decided that we needed to go big this year and melt peoples faces off with hardcore metal.” 2018 Riverfest Event Coordinator Ray Rosenbug told The Cob Tuesday morning.
“The band’s promoter and manager told us they’ve been wanting to play Ottawa’s Riverfest for a long time. It was really a dream of theirs to be welcomed to such a great venue.” He continued.
“The river water smell in the background and the stench of poop in the nearby port-o-potties all crammed into a city block sounded like the right venue for them.” Ray concluded.
Details of the show are forthcoming, but word is going around their new song “This Will Never Happen (in Ottawa)” will be played.
