Local Man Refuses To Mow Lawn Again Until Spring
UTICA, IL – After a long and rainy summer, a local Utica man says he is tired of mowing his lawn and is waiting it out until Spring.
Tom Bowmann of Utica talked to The Cob about his protest last week following his last lawn mow of the season.
“I can’t even count how many times I’ve mowed this summer. Two, three times a week, just to keep up. I miss one mow and it grows into Jumanji!”, Mr. Bowmann told The Cob.
“I’ve cut it for the last time. If it grows five feet tall, I don’t care, I’m holding to my word.” Tom continued.
“And another thing. I’m not picking up any leaves this year. I’m just staying inside and watching football and drinking beer. My lawn is off limits until Spring.” He concluded.
Since last mowing his lawn, Tom’s yard has become overgrown with weeds and grass. Neighbors have begun a petition to keep the neighborhood lawns trimmed and proper and have appealed to the city.
As for Tom’s response to the concern over his lawn, “If they want it cut so bad. They can do it!”
