Governor Says Florida Residents Displaced By Hurricane Welcome in Illinois, They Respond, “Nah, We Good.”

August 30th, 2019

SPRINGFIELD, IL – With Hurricane Dorian making its way through the Bahamas on a direct collision course with Florida, Illinois Governor, J.B. Pritzker has extended a welcome to residents affected by the storm, but many Florida residents have responded by saying “They’d rather float away in a trailer than come to Illinois”.

“It would have to be a category 11 storm for me to even think about going to Illinois.” Florida resident, Sam Smerth, told The Cob.

“I lived in Illinois before, I ain’t going back there! What if I got stuck there, then suddenly it’s -30 degrees in the winter and I’m paying 1,000% in taxes. Nah, ain’t happened.” Mr. Smerth continued.

“I mean I really think they are just trying to get people to come back to the state since so many people have left, yeah right, not happening.” He concluded.
